From Gmail to an opportunity
Connect Gmail to Customer Connect by forwarding incoming customer enquiries to your team email address. Customer Connect interprets the email and creates an opportunity that your team can work on together.
A Gmail filter lets you choose which messages to forward, such as enquiries sent to a particular address or with a particular subject line.
How to connect Gmail
- Get your team email address. Open the email settings in Customer Connect. Create an address if your team does not have one, then copy it.
- Add the address in Gmail. Open Gmail on a computer and go to the forwarding settings. Add the team address and complete Google’s verification. Contact us if you need help with the confirmation sent to the team address.
- Choose which enquiries to forward. Create a filter with the conditions you need and select the team address as the recipient. Keep a copy in Gmail.
- Test with a customer enquiry. Send an email that matches the filter and check the opportunity in Customer Connect.
See Google’s instructions for forwarding and filters for the current settings.
Give the enquiry a next step
Once the email has become an opportunity, you can assign an owner and schedule follow-up. Your team has a shared place to see who will contact the customer next.
