Overview

From contact form to opportunity

When a visitor submits an enquiry on your WordPress website, the form response can be emailed to Customer Connect. The content is interpreted to create an opportunity for your team to handle.

The connection uses the form’s email feature. Choose the team address as the recipient and include the customer’s contact details and message in the email body.

Start with your team email address

Open the email settings in Customer Connect and copy your team email address. Create it there if needed. Then follow the instructions for your form tool:

Elementor Forms

Open the form widget in Elementor. Under Actions After Submit, make sure Email is enabled. Then open Email and enter the team address in To.

Keep [all-fields] in Message to include the form fields in the email. If you use a custom email template, check that the name, email and customer message are included. Save and update the page.

See Elementor’s guide to form emails.

Divi

Open the Contact Form module and go to Content → Email. Enter the team address as the recipient. In Message Pattern, add the fields to send to Customer Connect, including the customer’s name, email and enquiry.

Divi uses field IDs between double percent signs, such as %%name%%, %%email%% and %%message%%. Adapt these to the actual Field ID values in your form and save the page.

See Divi’s form settings and Message Pattern guide.

Ninja Forms

Open the form and the Emails & Actions tab. Add or edit an Email action and enter the team address in To.

Use {fields_table} in Email Message to include completed fields. Check that the action is active and publish your changes.

See Ninja Forms’ email instructions.

Connect with Contact Form 7

  1. Copy your team address. Open the email settings in Customer Connect and copy the team email address. Create one there if needed.
  2. Choose the recipient. Open the form in Contact Form 7. Under the Mail tab, enter the team address in To.
  3. Include the customer’s details. Add the form’s name, email and message fields to the email content using the correct mail-tags. Keep a sender address from your website’s own domain in From.
  4. Check the flow. Save and submit a test enquiry from the website. Check that the customer details appear in the opportunity in Customer Connect.

See Contact Form 7’s email setup instructions for field names and examples.

WPForms

Open the form and go to Settings → Notifications. Enable the form’s email notification and enter the team address in Send To Email Address.

Keep {all_fields} in Email Message to include form responses, or add the corresponding fields to your own template. Save the changes.

See WPForms’ guide to form notifications.

Gravity Forms

Open Settings → Notifications for the form. Add or edit a notification and choose the team email address as the recipient under Send To.

Check that Message includes the form responses. Use the field picker to add customer details and the message. Save and check that the notification is active.

See Gravity Forms’ notification instructions.

Using the WordPress.com form block?

Select the form block and open Form notifications. Enable email delivery and enter the team address as the recipient. You can also keep an existing recipient by entering multiple addresses separated by commas. Save and test the form.

See WordPress.com’s guide to forms and email notifications. If form responses already go to an inbox, you can also use forwarding from Gmail or Microsoft 365.

Keep the enquiry and follow-up together

Submit a test enquiry from the published website after saving the settings. Check that the name, contact details and entire message appear in the opportunity in Customer Connect.

In Customer Connect, you can assign an owner and schedule follow-up on the opportunity. Learn more about collecting customer enquiries or contact us for help with the form’s email setup.
