From Outlook to an opportunity
Connect email in Microsoft 365, also known as Office 365, to Customer Connect through forwarding. Incoming customer enquiries are sent to your team email address, where Customer Connect interprets the content and creates opportunities.
This suits a mailbox for quote requests, for example. Use Outlook rules if you want to select particular emails.
How to connect Microsoft 365
- Get your team email address. Open the email settings in Customer Connect. Create an address if your team does not have one, then copy it.
- Set up forwarding. In Outlook on the web, open Settings → Mail → Forwarding. Enter the team address and choose to keep a copy of the messages. Use a rule if only selected enquiries should be forwarded.
- Check with your administrator. Your Microsoft 365 administrator may need to allow external forwarding for the mailbox.
- Test with a customer enquiry. Check that the email arrives and becomes an opportunity in Customer Connect.
See Microsoft’s instructions for forwarding in Outlook and external forwarding settings. Contact us for help with the setup.
Follow up enquiries together
In Customer Connect, you can assign the opportunity to an owner and schedule follow-up for the next contact. Your team gets a shared view of enquiries arriving through Outlook.
